Last evening I attended a Drinking Liberally event in Norristown, in the Philadelphia suburbs. Eight people showed up, which is a pretty good turnout for a new group.
While smaller than its downtown Philadephia counterpart, which has been around for much longer, the Norristown event seemed more personal and more intimate, and it was easier to get to know most of the attendees.

I highly recommend these weekly events for progressive-minded folks who want to meet and hang out with others who hold similar values.
