Yesterday, George W. Bush nominated White House counsel Harriet Miers to replace Sandra Day O'Connor on the Supreme Court.
Miers has a lot of experiences as a lawyer. However, she has never been a judge. Nonetheless, Bush nominated her for one of the biggest judicial gigs in the country. We don't need no stinking experience. And the Senate will not have the luxury of evaluating her previous rulings during the confirmation process, because there were no previous rulings.
Will Bunch of the Philadelphia Daily News posted some interesting information on his blog yesterday outlining why Miers is not a good choice for the job. For instance, Miers had aided Bush in his attempts to downplay his Texas National Guard scandal. [Read Bunch's post.]
And here's an interesting twist: Even the right-wing pundits are criticizing this nomination, as Ann Coulter wannabe Michelle Malkin points out. [Read Malkin's rant.]
