As of 11:51 am yesterday, we're up to 1,954 U.S. military casualties since the Iraq war began on 19 March 2004.
Meantime, the American Friends Service Committee (AFSC) is organizing vigils to take place across the country on the day after the 2000th reported U.S. military death in Iraq.
According to the AFSC, "people will gather in communities across the U.S. to say that the country’s pro-peace majority wants Congress to stop the deaths by stopping the dollars that are funding the war."
