Many of us have been wondering if we'll ever learn the identity of the White House official(s) who outed CIA operative Valerie Plame in 2003, allegedly in retaliation for the fact that Plame's husband, former ambassador Joe Wilson, openly criticized the Bush administration's Iraq policy.
Now, according to a story in Editor & Publisher, a senior MSNBC political analyst is claiming that Karl Rove was the source. [Read story.]
The story is spreading. An article in the July 11 issue of Newsweek is also questioning whether Rove may have played a role i the scandal. [Read Newsweek article.]
Revealing the identity of a covert CIA agent is a very serious crime. Will we soon see Karl Rove being led out of the White House in handcuffs?
