The U.S. government can now legally lie to Congress

On his personal blog, David Sirota of the Center for American Progress discusses how House Republicans recently made it legal for U.S. government officials to lie to Congress.

House Republicans voted down an amendment that would explicitly bar the federal government from lying to Congress. Nine Republicans and all Democrats voted for the measure - but the GOP leadership made sure that there were enough GOP votes to defeat the measure.
